Our Collective Weight-loss Challenge Progress Blog

Welcome to our weight loss challenge! We are collectively trying to lose 14 lbs by Bastille Day (July 14)! We are Weight Watchers members and we began counting from May 12. We will also be challenging each other to accomplish fitness or nutritional goals during these weeks. This is a never-ending journey for both of us and we welcome as much support as possible!

Hang in there...

So I lost 1.2 this week - Putting us at a collective total of 7.4 lbs lost! Halfway there!

Abby, hang in there. First of all, the Easter candy issue - I would do one of two things. Option 1 is throw it out. Now obviously, if it's Todd's and he wants it you can't do that. But if it's Todd's candy, and he wants to eat it, then I would decide that the candy is Todd's and therefore off limits. I have been known to decide that a bag of chips (even one I bought) is really Michael's bag of chips (since he's the person in the house not worried about weight). Then I don't eat it, because they are Michael's chips and he's not sharing. Pretend it's Todd's candy and you can't have it. Buy some fat free chocolate pudding or something so you can satisfy the chocolate craving if you suddenly want the candy, or if it's some sort of jelly bean like thing, buy something WW friendly and not chocolate. Then you have your sweets and he has his and you can't eat his. As for the beer (which you can't throw out 'cause it's Leinenkugel, For every day you have a beer, make sure you do 2 pts worth of exercise to cancel it out.

Mini-goal. How about journaling (completely journaling, none of this quick track stuff) every day this week? That's what it took to get me back on track. Don't make the mini-goal a lb amount - make it smaller, like "I will journal every day this week," or "I will drink 6 glasses of water every day." Just some ideas.
